Launching into Learning: Exploring Forces

Last Friday, all students engaged in hands-on investigations and learning together to explore force —pushes or pulls. Students worked collaboratively to predict, observe, infer, and explain their experimental results, with an emphasis on critical and creative thinking.

Students participated in two main practical experiments:

  1. Balloon Propulsion: Following the steps to inflate and release a balloon, students observed the basic principle of rocket propulsion, making predictions and recording outcomes. This was a fantastic way to grasp the fundamentals of force and motion.

  2. Tube Rocket Challenge: The students built their own Tube Rockets. After admiring the creativity of their peers' designs, it was time for the launch. The rockets were fueled with fizzy tablets and water, and the students watched with excitement as the resulting chemical reaction generated gas, dramatically propelling their creations upward!

The hands-on approach made learning about forces great fun, as students actively explored and experienced the concept first-hand.
