Garden Club has been busy!
As part of the chicken run renovation, the entire area surrounding the coop is getting a fresh new lease on life! Over the past two Wednesday lunchtimes - Year 5 and 6 students, teachers, Mrs Cook and other eager student gardeners have been clearing rubbish and leaf litter, and raking the arear flat. This week, new top soil arrived and was placed in all the raised garden beds and planter boxes, ready for new planting next week. In a few weeks' time, this revitalised area, will be a colourful, productive garden area, full of different types of vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers! Special thanks to our amazing school maintenance and handyman, Clenton, for all his hard work and muscle power over the recent holidays with the chook run renovation, garden bed preparation and soil collection.
