Literacy

We have compared and contrasted a range of texts, cross examining them with books that were then later turned into movies or short films. Recognising and understanding why and then connecting it to yourself is a comprehension skill that we have been practising.

Writing

In writing sessions, we are learning to improve our word choice when writing short pieces of texts. This includes text specific words that demonstrate our understanding of the topic and engaging words that captures our audience's attention!

Inquiry

This term, our Inquiry focus is on the "War on Waste". Students will learn how the recycling processes work, what happens to land fill and how we can protect and sustain our future. We have an excursion scheduled in mid November where students will get to see first hand how their recycling efforts are used!

As part of our Inquiry Unit, some students chose to make instruments out of recycled material!

An email was sent out to all families with the details of how and when to purchase items from the stock available. It is attached again here for your convenience.
