Year 12 Celebration Day & Final Assembly For The Class of 2025

The Charlton College community came together to celebrate the Year 12 Class of 2025, marking the end of an incredible journey filled with learning, laughter, and lasting memories.

The day began with the much-anticipated Year 12 Celebration Day, where students embraced the moment with joy and humour. The “Funny Year 12 Awards” had everyone laughing as classmates nominated each other for playful titles that captured their unique personalities and moments from the year. The cohort then took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on their shared experiences and creating a time capsule to be opened at their 10 Year Reunion — a symbolic reminder of their connection and growth.

A highlight of the morning was the final morning tea with staff, where students and teachers reflected on the relationships built over many years. It was a heartfelt reminder of the strong support networks developed within the Charlton community — bonds that will continue well beyond graduation.

Of course, the celebrations weren’t without some fun and friendly competition. The staff versus student soccer match drew cheers from the sidelines, followed by some water balloon chaos that left everyone smiling. The students impressed with their fantastic dress-ups, bringing colour, creativity, and plenty of laughter to their final day. A powerful moment of farewell was the Class of 2025 taking a lap of honour around the school on a fire truck, waving proudly.

The Final Assembly saw parents, families, students and staff gathered to honour the graduating students and reflect on how far they’ve come — from their first days in Prep, with oversized uniforms and shiny shoes, to the confident young adults ready to take on the world.

Students and staff looked back on the world that shaped their schooling years — from Gangnam Style and Frozen sing-alongs to fidget spinners, lockdowns, and the rise of AI. These moments weren’t just pop culture references; they marked the changing world this generation has grown through reminding students as they embark on this transitional time  everyone that “change isn’t something to fear — it’s something to dance with.”

Charlton College extends heartfelt thanks to the parents and families who joined the final assembly and supported these students throughout their journey.

As many students now head into SWOTVAC to prepare for their exams — and others step into new opportunities such as apprenticeships, work, travel, or training — this is a time to pause, reflect, and look forward with confidence.

Our advice to the Class of 2025 is simple: trust the journey. Take the lessons you’ve learned at Charlton — resilience, teamwork, and kindness — and carry them with you. Whether you’re studying late into the night or starting a new chapter beyond the classroom, remember that success isn’t defined by one path or one result. It’s about curiosity, effort, and the courage to keep learning.

Stay connected to your friends, teachers, and community — they’ll continue to be your network of support long after the exams are over. Believe in your abilities, take time for balance, and remember to celebrate how far you’ve already come.

Wherever your next steps lead, walk forward with pride — you’ll always be part of the Charlton College story.Congratulations to our graduating Class of 2025 — we are so proud of each of you. May you continue to be bold, curious, and kind as you take the next step into the world beyond Charlton.

Welcome to our 2025 graduating cohort:

Ditch Berg, Taylah Boyle, Elise Fitzpatrick, Poppy Fitzpatrick, Zali Heenan, Fletcher Holmes-Brown, Beau Johnstone, Joseph Monaghan, Emmersyn Nelson, Annie Olive,

Mercadiez O'Sullivan, Isabel Soulsby, Georgia Wright.

We recognise that the cost of rural students pursuing their post high school goals is often much greater than those of their metropolitan counterparts and that sometimes these costs can be prohibitive.

With this in mind, CEF Bendigo fundraises throughout the year and accepts donations from residents and businesses to provide financial grants to students who need an extra helping hand. The funds come directly from your local community – none of it is government funded – celebrating the aspirations of local youth and working to help them achieve these aspirations.

It’s our way of saying “we believe in you and want to support your goals.

We support a diverse range of education and career pursuits including apprenticeships, traineeships, cadetships, degrees, diplomas and certificate level studies or entry careers. We do not provide cash grants directly to the recipients – the local foundation reimburses the student for a pre-agreed expense or pays the goods and services providers directly.
