Lizzie and the Foundation class would like to say a huge ‘thankyou’ to all of the students, staff and members of the Charlton community who posted a letter to us in our mailbox at the show. We were so excited to open 33 letters! We were even lucky to receive a couple of photos of some familiar faces from their primary school days! We’ve loved hearing about other people’s experiences at school, and have been busily collating some data in our numeracy lessons. So far, most of our respondents started school in the 1990s. Some similar themes between our class and others’ memories are the friendships and using counters for numeracy. Some differences are the classroom set-up and digital technologies. We’ve also been fascinated to hear that one person used to go to school on Saturdays, and lots of people didn’t like drinking warm milk!
Scotts BMX Trick Show
Last week our students were treated to an exciting performance from Scott’s BMX Trick Show! Scott wowed everyone with his incredible bike stunts and tricks while sharing important messages about resilience, perseverance, and making positive choices. The show had students cheering, laughing and learning as Scott reminded everyone that practice, effort and a positive attitude can help us achieve our goals — both on and off the bike! A big thank you to Charlton Neighborhood house for organising the event and to St Joeys for joining us in the school stadium.

Book Review by Molly
Sea Legs is a graphic novel and adventure book set on her family boat and at her school.
The main characters are Rae, Janey and her mum and dad. Janey i sailing through the coral reef and experiences new cultures but it is so hard because she is transferring through new schools all the time.
Molly thinks this book is great for kids in Grade 2 and above. and would give it 6 out of 5 stars!
