Principal's Message

Dear Holy Family Parents,
St Brigid’s Day and Commissioning Mass
Our school community gathered together today to celebrate St Brigid’s Day and our Commissioning Mass, a beautiful opportunity to begin the year together in prayer and faith.
Inspired by the life of St Brigid and our school motto of Strength and Gentleness, we reflected on how these values guide the way we learn, lead and care for one another. Our Mass theme, “Share the Light of Jesus,” reminded us of our call to live with kindness, courage and compassion in all that we do.
We were delighted to welcome our Kindergarten students to their first school Mass, marking an important milestone in their journey at Holy Family. We also formally commissioned our Year 6 leaders, who have an important role this year as role models and Kindergarten Buddies, supporting and guiding our youngest students with care and responsibility.
I would like to sincerely thank our dedicated staff for their commitment to our students and to our shared mission. Your daily work in nurturing learning, faith and wellbeing truly reflects the values of our school.
Unfortunately, Father Colin was unable to join us for mass due to an important family commitment. We are very grateful to Father David Ranson, Vicar General, for generously taking time from his busy schedule to preside at Mass, allowing us to celebrate together in a Eucharistic liturgy. Thank you also to Mrs Stella for her care and preparation in making the Mass such a meaningful celebration.
We thank our parents, families and parish community for their ongoing support and partnership. Together, we look forward to a year grounded in faith, guided by strength and gentleness, and committed to sharing the light of Jesus in all that we do.
Welcome to Kindergarten 2026
Our Holy Family school community was filled with excitement as we welcomed our Kindergarten students on their very first day of school last Friday. This year, we are delighted to have two Kindergarten classes with a total of 44 students, all beginning an important and memorable learning journey.
The first day was full of new experiences — meeting teachers, making new friends, exploring classrooms and learning routines. Our Kindergarten students showed great courage and enthusiasm as they settled into school life, and it was wonderful to see their growing confidence throughout the day.
A highlight was the support provided by our Stage 3 buddies, who were just as excited as the Kindergarten students themselves. Our Year 5 and Year 6 students take their roles seriously, offering guidance, reassurance and friendship. Their care and enthusiasm helped our youngest learners feel safe, welcomed and supported from the moment they arrived.
The buddy program is a valued part of life at Holy Family. It reflects our school values of Strength and Gentleness, as our older students lead by example, showing responsibility, kindness and service. These early connections help build a strong sense of belonging and community across the school.
I would like to thank our Kindergarten teachers and support staff for their care, preparation and warmth. Their dedication ensures that our students and families feel confident and supported as they begin their journey with us.
To our Kindergarten families, thank you for the trust you place in our school. We look forward to partnering with you as your children grow, learn and thrive at Holy Family.
It has been a wonderful start to the year, and we look forward to many more moments of learning, friendship and joy as our newest students continue to settle into school life.
