Learning & Innovation

Learning is a lifelong process.”

—  Peter Drucker

Welcome to 2026!

As we commence the 2026 school year, I am delighted to welcome our students, parents and staff back to our community. We look forward to a year defined by collaboration and the shared pursuit of learning. Together, we will ensure that the coming months are marked by growth and success for every student.

At Brigidine, our educational philosophy is defined by a commitment to cultivating a lifelong passion for learning. We provide a diverse range of academic experiences designed to empower our students to flourish as both scholars and young women. Throughout 2026, we remain dedicated to challenging our students to grow into "women of strength and gentleness".

The start of the academic year is a vital period for renewing connections and establishing new partnerships. Our teachers are currently tailoring their instructional approaches to meet the unique strengths and diverse needs of every student. We encourage all students to engage proactively in their classes, embrace new academic challenges and collaborate with their teachers to lay the groundwork for a successful year.

Developing Excellence Through Study Habits

We firmly believe that excellence is achieved through the development of productive habits sustained by a disciplined approach. In partnership with parents, we aim to walk with our students along their academic journey. The College subscribes to several invaluable resources to help students develop effective study habits:

  1. The Study Skills Handbook

This provides a comprehensive and interactive online guide for the school community. To access the Brigidine College subscription, please use the following details:

  2. Elevate Education

Elevate is an award-winning organisation that helps our students become more effective learners. The College runs two sessions per term—one delivered by external providers and a second via our Pastoral Care Teachers. These focus on self-motivation, time management and assessment preparation.

Elevate also runs online parent seminars at 6:30pm–7:30pm on the below dates to help you support your daughter's journey.

Feb 25: How You Can Help Your Child Manage Their Time

March 11: How You Can Make Technology an Ally (Not the Enemy!)

Transition to Google Classroom

This year marks a shift from Canvas to Google Classroom. This move provides a familiar platform with tighter integration into the Google ecosystem, consistent with our fellow Sydney Catholic Schools.

What Guardians Can & Cannot Do

As a guardian, you can opt-in to email summaries (daily or weekly) highlighting missing work, upcoming deadlines and announcements. However, please note that guardians cannot log into the platform directly or view peer interactions. We encourage you to sit down with your daughter to view specific assignments and feedback together!

How to Sign Up for Guardian Summaries

  1. Receive the Invite

Watch your inbox for an email with the subject: "You've been invited as a guardian." (Check your spam if it hasn’t arrived!)

  2. Click "Accept"

Open the email and click the Accept button to link it to your preferred email address.

  3. Choose Your Frequency

Select how often you want updates: Weekly (Fridays), Daily, or No summaries.

We are incredibly excited to embark on this new chapter with you. By working together to build strong study habits and maintaining open communication through our new digital platforms, we set the stage for a fulfilling and transformative year. We value your continued support and look forward to seeing all that our students will achieve in 2026.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful start to the term!
