Welcome back to another year!
In true Brigidine form, it has been a busy return to school, and I am delighted to share that the College has had an exceptional start to 2026. We have already experienced many wonderful moments together as a community. We celebrated St Brigid’s Feast Day on the first day back at school; it is always impressive to see everyone in such good spirits, with the choir sounding beautiful.

In Week 2, we held our High Achievers Assembly to celebrate the wonderful Class of 2025. It was heartening to see 57 of our 76 Distinguished Achievers return to receive recognition for their outstanding HSC efforts. It is always uplifting to speak with our newest alumni and witness the enthusiasm they have for embarking on the next phase of their lives.

Our new Year 7 students have settled in well, surviving "bootcamp" while learning about life at Brigidine College. They also successfully navigated three days at camp and were very happy to return to the comfort of their own beds!
Open Day is on Wednesday 25th February. This is a significant event for the College, running from 3:30pm to 6:30pm, and I will be speaking at 5:00pm. If you know anyone interested in attending, please pass this information along. You may also notice our advertisements on buses in the Eastern Suburbs and at Royal Randwick Shopping Centre - the School Captains look magnificent in the photos!

As part of the enrolment process, I have spent the last few days visiting several Catholic Primary schools. I’ve been accompanied by ex-students from those schools, who have been wonderful ambassadors for Brigidine. I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Open Day.
The College is embarking on the creation of a Framework of Excellence. This will serve as the blueprint for our community, particularly within the classroom, incorporating both our faith perspective and the BRAVE pastoral care program. We look forward to finalising this by the end of Term 2 and incorporating it into our daily practice.
The Year 8-11 information evenings have been held recently and they have given a clear direction for what your daughter's will be doing over the next year. They were also an opportunity to outline the expectations regarding assessment and classwork and our expectations for maintaining the high quality education we are renowned for.
Three months is a long time in construction, and it is gratifying to finally show off our new Top Quad to the students which was handed over on Tuesday the 10th of February. The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive; this upgrade was very much overdue! Work on the Connolly Williams building continues to move forward, and we are still on track for a completion date at the end of Term 1. Additionally, we have upgraded the TAS rooms which are now operational and a great asset for the school.

Finally, our Year 7 and 8 Pastoral Care Coordinators have moved into a new office space that is much more accessible for the students. It is a genuine pleasure to see these environmental transformations finally coming to life. I want to extend my sincere thanks to the many students and staff who participated in our consultations; your insights have been instrumental in creating vibrant learning spaces that our girls and staff can truly enjoy and thrive in. This is just the beginning, and we eagerly look forward to even more school improvements on the horizon.
