Pathways and Transitions

Pathways
Term 1 has started with a bang, with lots of students already coming to the pathways office to discuss future pathways. From year 10’s asking questions about what pathways post school exist, to Year 11 and Year 12 students proposing scenarios about their own specific pathways into their dream fields. In the pathways team we love hearing about what students want to do, so please keep on discussing these options with us.
VET
As with every term 1 start, VET for VCE VM and some VCE students has started with great enthusiasm, but also understandably, some nerves. It has been fantastic to see students venturing to other host schools to ply their hand at vocational education to help achieve their future goals. What has been even better to hear, is the amount of positive feedback coming from those host school as to how well our students have started and how proud we should be at how they conduct themselves. Well done to all VET students, keep up the great work.
Year 12 Conversations - Starting week 7!
For Year 12 students, the time is NOW to start thinking beyond 2026. The pathways team will be having our twice yearly, Year 12 Pathways conversations which will start in Week 7 (Tuesday 10th of March). This is to help start the process of figuring out what post 2026 looks like, what the students goals are, what their ATAR wants and needs are, as well as any post schooling courses that they may have on their mind. Look out on COMPASS for a google form and sign ups that each Year 12 student will need to complete to ensure these conversations are useful for all. These conversations will be occurring in P0, Recess and Lunchtimes from week 7 until the end of term.
Transitions
The beginning of the year for the transition of our Year 10 students into the school has been smooth and positive. Students have settled in well, building connections with peers and staff, and engaging confidently with their learning routines.
A highlight coming up is the much anticipated Luna Park transition excursion for year 10 students on Friday the 13th of March, which promises to be a fun and memorable experience for students as they continue to strengthen friendships and feel part of our school community.
The transition of our Year 11 and 12 students has commenced positively, with students settling in well to their new learning environment.
Our Transitions Team will soon be reaching out to our Precinct Partner Schools to share information regarding the enrolment process and key dates in preparation for 2027.
