Year 10 Report
What a fantastic start to the year it has been for our Year 10 cohort. The students have settled in beautifully, and it has been wonderful to see such positive energy across the year level.
We began the year with two assemblies and our College Meet and Greet, which provided a valuable opportunity for students and families to connect with staff and become familiar with the expectations and support in place for 2026. Thank you to the families who were able to attend, as your engagement makes a real difference.
We would also like to commend students on their uniform standards. The majority of students are wearing the college uniform with pride, and this strong start sets a positive tone for the year. We encourage students to continue maintaining these high expectations.
Finally, we are very much looking forward to the upcoming Luna Park excursion. This will be an exciting opportunity for students to build connections, enjoy a shared experience, and celebrate a strong start to Year 10.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we work together to make this a successful and rewarding year for our students.
Year 11 Report
2026 has begun in a very positive way at Homestead, with our Year 11 students consistently demonstrating the College’s values in their daily learning and interactions. It has been pleasing to see students across both VCE and VCE VM embracing their programs with commitment and pride.
Students are already showcasing their abilities in excellent ways, setting high standards for themselves, and contributing positively to our school community. We have also been impressed by the pride taken in wearing the College uniform, which has helped create a strong and unified start to the year.
We are excited about what lies ahead for our Year 11 cohort and look forward to supporting them throughout 2026. Thank you for your continued support of the College. Should you require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact Lachlan or Nerida.
Year 12 Report
Our Year 12 cohort has made a fantastic start to the year, setting a positive and focused tone for what promises to be an exciting final chapter of their schooling. It has been wonderful to see students applying themselves so well in their classes and taking advantage of Thursday Study Club to strengthen their understanding and stay on top of their coursework.
There is a real sense of pride across the College, with so many students proudly wearing their Year 12 jackets each day. I also greatly appreciated the opportunity to connect with families at our Meet and Greet BBQ and at the Parent Information Night. Building strong partnerships between home and school is such an important part of a successful Year 12 year.
Students have also participated in VCE workshops designed to deepen their understanding of the requirements set out by Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA), and we are confident this has provided valuable clarity as they begin their final year. With an engaging and eventful year ahead, including our Year 12 Camp in Term 2, Week 1.
We look forward to continuing to support and celebrate this outstanding group of students throughout 2026.
Engagement Leader Report
We have had a fantastic start to the school year - we welcomed a new year 10 cohort to the college; and our year 11s and 12s returning refreshed, focused and ready to embrace new challenges. Classrooms have quickly settled into positive routines, and it has been wonderful to see such strong engagement across all year levels. The energy and enthusiasm around the College have set a very encouraging tone for the months ahead.
This has been evident in the high numbers attending our Study Club on a Thursday afternoon.
Our recent Parent Information Nights were extremely well attended and provided a valuable opportunity for families to connect with teachers and learn more about the programs and expectations for 2026. We greatly appreciate the partnership between home and school, and we thank parents for their ongoing support as we work together to ensure the best outcomes for every student.
We have also been delighted with the success of our VCE/ Academic success Workshops. These sessions have given our senior students practical strategies, subject-specific guidance and hopefully increased confidence as they begin this important year. The strong participation and positive feedback from students reflect their commitment to making the most of every opportunity available to them.
