Wellbeing Team

We all know exam time can be stressful. From Week 7 onwards, students in our Senior school will be completing numerous assessments that may cause them to become overwhelmed, start procrastinating about working on hand in tasks or studying for exams. Managing this exam stress starts with self-care and setting realistic goals. It is important that students manage their time effectively and use their time in class productively. In preparation for this stressful time, planning study sessions ahead of time while balancing breaks, hobbies and good sleep habits are so important to ensure students are prepared.
Parents play an important role in their child’s academic success by having conversations about what they are studying, how well they understand the content and what they may be unsure about. Communication between parents and the school, if they are worried about their child’s wellbeing or academic progress, is integral in supporting all students at BHGHS.
Regular school attendance is also essential for exam success. The NSW Department of Education’s Everyday Counts policy reminds us that consistent attendance supports academic progress as well as wellbeing, safety, and creates a stronger sense of belonging. Missing school can create learning gaps, increase stress, and reduce chances of developing strong study habits. Parents are responsible for ensuring daily attendance and punctuality, and schools work collaboratively with families to encourage and monitor this.
Our Wellbeing Team is dedicated to helping students reach their potential. We recognise that students thrive when families and schools work together to support their growth and development.
If you have any concerns or information that might impact your daughter’s learning or wellbeing, please do not hesitate to contact her Student Adviser. All information is treated with care and respect for student privacy. Student Advisers can be reached through the front office by phone on 9150 4280 or by email at beverlyhg-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au. Together we can foster habits that reduce exam stress and help every student Be Somebody.
