CAREERS CORNER

U@UNI - UTS
An excited twenty Year 11 students are about to embark on their journey and attend the orientation to the 2 year U@Uni Academy program later this term. An all-day program held at UTS offering an introduction of what the next two years will be like for them in the program, whilst also getting a glimpse of University life.
As our Year 12s near the conclusion of the program, they prepare to reap the rewards of their dedication and commitment to this program with access to their chosen courses at UTS.
We’re excited to be able to offer this opportunity to our students, in partnership with UTS which will help them achieve success, not only in their HSC but into the future.
POLISH – BEACON FOUNDATION/AON
On Tuesday 5th May 2026, the Jobs for Girls class visited Aon, participated in a program with employees from Aon, facilitated by the Beacon Foundation. This program was an interactive experience designed to help students in year 9/10 prepare for the transition to the workplace. It focused on first impression skills, communication, personal branding and interview confidence.
Work Experience - Year 10 2026
In 2025, Year 10 students will have the opportunity to participate in one/two week(s) of Work Experience. This program is a part of secondary schooling and integral to the Career Education Program at this school. The aim of the program is for students to gain first-hand experience in a work situation and develop an understanding of the process involved in choosing a career.
We would appreciate your assistance in encouraging your daughter to participate in this worthwhile program. Students who leave work experience organisation to the last minute, often miss out of their desired career choice. All placements and paperwork for Work Experience are to be finalised 3 weeks before the date of any work experience.
The following weeks have been set aside for any student wishing to do work experience, these dates will be flexible, and students can negotiate with the Careers Adviser and their teacher to go on work experience for the week. If these dates are not suitable with employers, students can discuss this with the Careers Adviser.

BEVERLY HILLS GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL CAREERS EXPO
We’re excited to announce after a successful few years, we will be holding a CAREERS EXPO at Beverly Hills Girls High School on Tuesday 16th June 2026. To support our already extensive Careers Program, various exhibitors will be attending to allow students to gain a deeper understanding and explore the myriad of options leading to their future careers.
YEAR 10 SUBJECT SELECTION
Year 10 will soon be making some important decisions regarding their senior study choices. It is always a daunting time for most students trying to figure out what they should choose to study in Year 11 & 12.
To have the best opportunity at success, it is important for students to harness their strengths and find what they enjoy; a combination of these is more likely to lead to not only success, but better engagement in the senior years. Sometimes, students will need to have studied a particular course/subject in order to meet pre-requisite requirements to be eligible for specific courses, though, this is rarely the case.
Throughout the end of Term 2 and following into Term 3, Year 10 students will be involved in a myriad of programs, including: workshops, subject information sessions, subject selection program, mentoring interviews and much more.
To facilitate this and provide the students and their parents with extensive information, we will be holding our Subject Selection information day/night on Tuesday 9th June 2026 - parent attendance is encouraged. Information has been sent to parents via schoolbytes, rsvp is appreciated.
UNSW MARKERBUS (Lantern Project) INCURSION
During the UNSW MakerBus session, we designed and built a lantern using wires and flexible cords. We learned how to connect the materials and create a structure that could produce light. We also experimented with different colours to see how they changed the look of the lantern. It was a hands-on activity that helped us understand how simple circuits and design work together.
