Building Wellbeing, Connections and Belonging in Year 7

Year 7 has enjoyed an exciting and action-packed Term Two filled with learning, new experiences and opportunities to connect as a year group. Students enthusiastically participated in their very first high school Athletics Carnival, demonstrating fantastic school spirit, teamwork and encouragement throughout the day. In PDHPE, students also took part in the Learn to Swim Program, where they developed important water safety knowledge and swimming skills, while building confidence in and around the water.

These experiences have been a wonderful way for students to strengthen friendships, challenge themselves and become more involved in school life.

As our Year 7 students continue to settle into high school life and strengthen positive relationships within the school community, Term 2 has also placed a strong emphasis on student wellbeing. A key highlight was the Bullying No Way workshop delivered by Fusion Australia. Through engaging discussions, group activities and real-life scenarios, students explored important topics such as the different forms of bullying, the impact of cyberbullying, and practical strategies for responding safely and respectfully if they

experience or witness bullying. The workshop also encouraged students to reflect on empathy, inclusion, respectful relationships and the importance of speaking up and seeking support when needed. Year 7 students participated thoughtfully and maturely throughout the session, contributing positively to discussions and demonstrating a genuine commitment to creating a safe and supportive school environment.

We are incredibly proud of the positive way Year 7 students have embraced the opportunities and challenges of high school so far, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth, wellbeing and success throughout the remainder of the year.
