Stage 2 have made a fantastic start to the year and should be incredibly proud of the way they have returned to school ready to learn. From day one, students have demonstrated a positive attitude, strong organisation skills and a willingness to challenge themselves across all learning areas.
In the classroom, Stage 2 have been actively engaging in rich discussions, collaborative tasks and goal setting for the term ahead. It has been wonderful to see students supporting one another, showing persistence in their learning and striving for personal bests.
We are especially impressed with the maturity and responsibility students are displaying — whether it’s settling quickly into routines, contributing thoughtfully to class conversations or taking pride in the presentation of their work.
We are looking forward to an exciting term ahead as Stage 2 continue to build on this strong start!

In Week 8, our Year 3 and Year 5 students will participate in the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). NAPLAN provides a snapshot of student achievement in Reading, Writing, Language Conventions (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and Numeracy.
At school, we approach NAPLAN as just one part of our overall assessment and learning cycle. The data gathered supports teachers in identifying strengths, monitoring growth and planning targeted teaching to meet student needs. It is important to remember that NAPLAN does not define a child’s abilities or potential — it simply offers one point of information about their learning progress.
We encourage students to approach the assessments calmly and confidently, to try their best and to view the experience as an opportunity to demonstrate what they know. Families can support their child by ensuring they get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and arrive at school feeling positive and prepared.

When: Monday 9th March
Time: 9.30am
Focus: Reading
A Learning Walk & Talk involves small groups of parents visiting a number of classrooms for short periods of time. During the walk, you may observe student engagement, classroom routines, learning intentions, and the strategies teachers use to support students. The focus is not on individual children, but on our whole-school practices and how we create effective learning environments.
Following the classroom visits, we come together for a brief discussion. This is an opportunity to reflect on what you noticed, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of our teaching approaches and school priorities.
Learning Walks help strengthen the partnership between home and school by providing insight into how learning looks across our classrooms. We look forward to sharing this experience with you and continuing to work together to support every child’s growth and success.
