CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

As we gathered last week to celebrate our Opening School Mass—a joyful occasion filled with the promise of a new academic year—
Fr Deleep spoke about hope and transformation as he made connections to the familiar picture book - The Very Hungry Caterpillar, we learn from our mistakes and we grow through hope and transformation.
We now find ourselves transitioning into the quiet, reflective space of Lent.
The timing of Ash Wednesday this year serves as a powerful reminder: while we celebrate our growth and our community, we must also remain grounded in our humility.
Today, as we received the ashes on our foreheads, we entered the "desert" of Lent. To some, the smudge of ash is actually a sign of liberation. It is an invitation to strip away the distractions of our busy lives and focus on what truly matters.
Over the next forty days, our school will focus on:
- Prayer: Finding quiet moments to listen to God’s voice.
- Fasting: Giving up small comforts to make more room for spiritual growth.
- Almsgiving: Reaching out in charity to
- those in our community who have less.
Lent is not a solo trek; it is a journey we take as
a school family. You will see our students participating in Project Compassion, engaging in classroom reflections, and finding ways to view 'Christ as our model'.
I encourage you to talk with your children about their Lenten goals. Whether it is being kinder to a sibling, spending less time on screens, or saying a prayer before bed or giving up a treat these small acts transform our hearts.
Let us use this season to grow closer to one another and closer to the Lord, so that we may arrive at the joy of Easter with renewed spirits.
