Maths Challenge Day

Our school was buzzing with excitement as students from Kindergarten to Year 6 came together for Maths Challenge Day. The theme for this term was multiplication and division and every class took part in activities designed to stretch their thinking and celebrate the joy of problem-solving.

From colourful games in the Kindergarten classroom to tricky questions tackled by our Year 6 students, the day offered something for everyone. Younger students explored multiplication through hands-on activities, rolling dice and then drawing groups of dots with chalk on the ground.

Activities were not just about numbers - they were about confidence, collaboration, and creativity. By the end, students had not only sharpened their maths skills but also discovered that multiplication and division can be exciting, engaging and even a little bit competitive!

We are proud of every student who participated and look forward to next year’s challenge theme.

Kindergarten Research

St Anthony's is excited to invite all families of Kindergarten 2025Year 1 2026 students to take part in a valuable research project led by Dr. Valeria M. Rigobon from the Australian Centre for the Advancement of Literacy at Australian Catholic University (ACU), one of our trusted partners in teacher professional learning.

The study, Tracking Students’ Word Spelling Development,” explores how young children learn to spell and apply spelling rules—an essential foundation for strong writing skills. By participating, you’ll be helping improve how spelling is taught in early education, benefiting not just your child but future learners too.
