Celebrating a Wonderful Week of Milestone Events

This week has been a truly memorable one for our school community, with two outstanding events showcasing the spirit, talent, and connection that define Belmont High School.

On Monday evening, we enjoyed an incredible night at our Year 12 Graduation Dinner. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our graduating class alongside their families, with countless positive interactions that highlighted just how proud our community is of these young people. A special moment of the evening was the presentation of two of our school’s most significant awards: the JG Forster Award, presented to Oliver Coulson, and the AMPOL Best All Rounder Award, awarded to Milla Scott. Both are truly deserving recipients who have made an exceptional contribution to our school.

Then on Thursday night, the celebrations continued at the Year 11 Formal, where the energy was high, the dance floor was full, and our students marked the end of their Year 11 journey in style. The night also included the exciting announcement of our 2026 School Captains

Early works are set to begin as early as next week, with activity on site increasing steadily as the project progresses. This new centre will provide state-of-the-art laboratories, flexible learning spaces, and modern health education facilities that will support teaching and learning for many years to come.

We are thrilled to see this long-awaited project moving into its construction phase and look forward to keeping our community updated as the build takes shape.

As we move into the final fortnight of the school year, you may notice that the last two weeks look a little different from previous years. With our major building works now underway, we are working hard to prioritise the tasks needed to ensure the school is ready, safe, and fully functional for the start of next year.

We sincerely appreciate the understanding and flexibility of our families during this period of transition. Please be assured that, despite the changes, we will continue to offer supervision for any student who requires it right up until Friday, 19th December.

Grade 6 to Year 7 transition

We look forward to next Tuesday when we welcome grade 6 students who will be joining us in 2025 as year 7’s at the school as part of the transition program.  Thank you to Ms Amie Reusch and Meagan McAlpine who organised the program and to our year 9 buddy students who will be helping during the day.

VCE Results

Year 12 students will receive their VCE results and VCAL certificates on Thursday 11th December.  Our careers team will be available all week at school to discuss and help with changes of preferences for tertiary study. Good luck to all the students with your results.

2025 Awards Ceremony – Save the date

On Wednesday 17th December, we will proudly host our Annual Student Awards Ceremony in the Belmont High School Gym, commencing at 6:00pm.

This special evening celebrates the achievements of our students across all year levels, recognising excellence, endeavour, leadership, and contribution to school life.

Invitations to the ceremony will be sent to families via Compass Events. Students receiving sponsored, recognition, subject, or sport awards will receive their invitations in the coming weeks. Recipients of Excellence and Endeavour Awards will be notified once the final reporting cycle closes, on or around Monday 8th December.
