Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,
As we turn the corner into December, the season of Advent and summer, the signs of Christmas are all around us. Christmas trees are appearing in lounge rooms, colourful lights are brightening neighbourhoods, and our own Kris Kringle traditions are well underway. It’s a wonderful reminder that the joy of the season is fast approaching.
Meanwhile, there is still plenty happening at school. Teachers are finalising reports, Year 6 students are preparing for camp and graduation, and we’re all working hard to finish the year well.
Staffing News
Parents and Carers will be well aware that we have a few staff changes next year. We do have some teachers changing year levels and rooms, and I thank them for accepting the challenge and the opportunity this entails. We are thrilled to announce three fantastic new additions to our teaching team for 2026. Please join us in welcoming Chloe Grist, Josh Frederick, and Pauline Arnold—each bringing fresh energy, talent, and passion to Sacred Heart.

Transition Day
Our teachers put a great deal of thought and care into forming class groups for the year ahead. As part of this process, students are surveyed about classmates they would like to be with, and we ensure every child is placed with at least one of their top three choices. At times, a healthy separation can also support the wellbeing and learning of both students involved, and we take this into careful consideration as well.
Students will have the opportunity to meet their 2026 class and teacher during our Transition Day on Tuesday, December 9th. On this day, our 2026 Foundation students will join us for their final orientation session, while our current Year 6 students will spend the day experiencing life at their chosen secondary school.
End of Year Mass
Our End of Year Mass will be celebrated at St Mary’s Church at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 16th. This Mass is a special opportunity for us to come together in gratitude for the year that has been and to pray for the year ahead. All parents, carers and friends are warmly invited to join us.
Graduation
Our Year 6 students are preparing to graduate from primary school as they look ahead to the next chapter of their learning in 2026. This is a significant milestone for our students and their families, and we look forward to celebrating their achievements.
Please note that the Graduation Ceremony will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, December 11th, at the Jubilee Centre at Trinity College. Families are warmly encouraged to attend and share in this special occasion.
