Prep Visit Moonlit Sanctuary
A Glorious Day admiring God’s Creation at Moonlit Sanctuary
The sun shone brightly as our Preps set out on a glorious adventure to Moonlit Sanctuary what a beautiful reminder of God’s creation! With thankful hearts and excited footsteps, we spent the day exploring the amazing animals God has made, bringing our Integrated Studies topic to a joyful close.
We also learnt some big new words at Moonlit Sanctuary, monotremes, mammals, exoskeletons, and ectotherms and it was wonderful to see these ideas come to life as we explored the animals together.
As we wandered through the sanctuary, the students were thrilled to spot tiny baby joeys tucked into their mothers’ pouches. Little hands eagerly offered Roo-food, and giggles filled the air as friendly kangaroos and wallabies hopped over for a snack. The children also enjoyed gently patting the animals, discovering firsthand the beauty and uniqueness of God’s creation.
A special highlight of the day was meeting Coconut, the very sleepy wallaby, who captured everyone’s hearts.
We are deeply grateful for our amazing parent helpers who joined us. Your kindness, patience, and willingness to serve made our excursion safe, smooth, and joy filled.
What a blessing this sunny, laughter-filled day at Moonlit Sanctuary was a beautiful celebration of learning, wonder, and God’s incredible creation!

Merry Christmas from 1/2CJ
What a fabulous year it has been in 1/2CJ! As we look back, I’m reminded of the beautiful words from Psalm 118:24: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
It truly captures the joy and celebration we’ve shared throughout our time together. A special congratulations goes to Charlotte for receiving the Junior Encouragement Award at her gymnastics club. As we close this chapter, my heart is full of gratitude for a wonderful year. Thank you for the joy, growth, and unforgettable moments we’ve shared. Here’s to even more blessings ahead!

Bike Education & Celebration Day on the North Campus
Last Friday, students enjoyed an exciting Bike Education and Celebration Day at the North Campus of BCC, providing a fantastic way to finish the second-last week of Term 4 on a high note.
Students took part in three engaging rotations throughout the day: Bike Education, Games and Rockets. The Bike Ed session was a clear highlight, with students riding bikes, navigating obstacles, weaving around trees, launching off small jumps and testing their skills on a purpose-built track. Many were highly motivated to set their fastest lap times, while also learning the importance of control, safety and respectful riding with others.
A special part of the day involved students helping to plant native plants around the track. This hands-on activity focused on environmental responsibility, with students learning how vegetation helps reduce soil erosion, protect the landscape and restore plants that are often damaged or removed during trail and track use. By replanting native species, students contributed to creating a more sustainable riding area that balances outdoor recreation with care for the natural environment.
Across all rotations, students showed excellent enthusiasm, cooperation and resilience. The Games and Rockets sessions were also a huge hit, with plenty of excitement, laughter and friendly competition throughout the day.
It was a brilliant way to celebrate a successful term, bringing together physical activity, teamwork and environmental responsibility in one memorable experience.
Year 5/6 Lifesaving Day at Mills Beach Mornington
Our Year 5/6 students enjoyed an outstanding day at Mills Beach, Mornington, with perfect beach conditions and a balmy 22°C creating an ideal setting for learning and fun.
Students rotated through five engaging, hands-on activities: CPR training, snorkelling, water rescues, board skills and beach games. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students developed essential lifesaving knowledge and practical skills, and quickly discovered that balancing on a rescue board is much easier in theory than in practice!
Recess and lunch brought even more excitement, with students enthusiastically making the most of the beach environment. Many enjoyed cooling off in the water, while others played soccer and cricket on the sand or set up serious sandcastle-building operations. Isaac VT was announced as the most zealous sand sculptor, but that might be more because he spent more time with his head in the sand than sculpting!
Students enjoyed purchasing sausages and soft drinks, enthusiastically working out what they could afford and putting their maths skills to good use. A well-earned BBQ lunch provided the perfect chance to refuel and celebrate a spectacular day.
With tired legs, sandy feet and sunkissed faces, the day out was a memorable blend of learning, teamwork and fun. One of the standout moments was watching a few very confident (and clearly experienced) seagulls expertly steal sausages straight from students’ hands, a reminder that they were not the first, and certainly won’t be the last, to be outsmarted by the local wildlife.

Year 6 Graduation
Last week we celebrated a very special milestone as our Year 6 students graduated from Primary School. It has been a joy to watch this group grow over the years, not only in their learning, but in confidence, character, and care for one another. Each student has played an important part in the life of our school and their journey through Primary has been filled with meaningful moments, friendships, and achievements.
Throughout their time at Bayside Christian College, our Year 6 students have been encouraged to explore their gifts, develop resilience, and understand what it means to live out their faith in everyday life. Whether in the classroom, at camp, on the sporting field, or through service and leadership opportunities, they have shown kindness, responsibility, and a growing sense of purpose.
As they prepare to move into the next stage of their schooling, we pray that they continue to trust God, ask good questions, and step forward with courage. The words of Proverbs 3:5–6 remind us to trust in the Lord and seek His guidance as we move forward, a message we hope they carry with them into this next chapter.
We thank the families and staff who have supported these students so faithfully along the way. Your encouragement and partnership have helped shape a strong foundation for each child.
To our Year 6 graduates, we are so proud of you. May you continue to grow, learn, and discover all that God has planned for you.
Congratulations on a wonderful Primary School journey.
