JSC Leadership and Voice

Junior School Council Elections for Grades 3, 4 and 5 Students

Student leadership is very important at Mackellar.  Not only do we want everyone to be a leader of themselves but we also want every student to consider being on the leadership team one day.  Students from grades 3, 4 and 5 have the opportunity to nominate themselves for Junior School Council.  If they nominate themselves, they must prepare a speech, deliver it to their class who will then vote for one representative from their grade.

Good luck to all of the students who are going to apply.

Student Survey for 2024 Clubs - Having a Voice

As Zoe mentioned, student leadership is very important at Mackellar and so is student voice.  Last Wednesday, the Junior School Council team visited all grades from one to six.  We facilitated a survey in each grade so students could have a say about clubs that they would like at the school this year.  Thank you to every student who did the survey.  We are pleased to announce that the 2024 clubs will be:

  • Dancing
  • Art (origami and drawing)
  • Games in the gym
  • Board Games and Mindfulness
  • Gardening
  • Collectables
  • Sport Training (Grades 5 & 6)
