Campus Ovals

Please note this Saturday 24th February, all three ovals on Campus will be sprayed for clover leaf. It will be best to stay off-site on this date.

Dogs on Campus

Please remember the grounds of the Campus have signs on all the major entrances to remind people not to bring dogs onto the site. Please remember to keep all dogs off our site and away from children. The obvious exception to this rule is working dogs like Lola who are onsite to support wellbeing.

Instrumental Lessons

A number of our students are enjoying their instrumental music lessons. Just a reminder that generally students go to lessons independently, however, if this is problematic for your child, please communicate with the instrumental teacher to ask them to collect your child from the classroom or to arrange a similar solution. All of our instrumental staff are happy to collect a student for a solo lesson, with parental understanding that this does take up some of the lesson time.

Athletics Club

Megan Loffler is again running the Pilgrim Athletics Club which is open to all interested Year 2 - 6 students. Sessions are held on Mondays 26th February and 4th March (until Weeks 6) from 3.30pm to 4.15pm on the Campus Middle Oval. Please be aware that student supervision on the oval will not commence until 3.30pm.

Athletics Club teaches students skills for competing in long jump, high jump, discus, relays, shot put and running events. This will be a good lead-up to Sports Day, SACSA Athletics training and the SACSA & Sapsasa carnivals later in the term.

Students will need to wear shoes suitable for athletics and have a sun hat with them for training. Students will have adequate time to change into their sports uniform after school before training.

Please register each child who will be attending via this form.

Premier's be active Challenge

Pilgrim School will be running the Premier’s be active Challenge in 2024. The Premier’s be active Challenge is a physical activity program introduced by the Premier in 2007 to:

  • encourage students to be more active more often
  • improve the health and wellbeing of South Australian students.

Guidelines to complete the Premier’s be active Challenge:

  1. Every student must have their activity recorded in the student recording booklet. These will be distributed by the school once a permission form has been returned.
  2. Complete at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week for at least 4 weeks between Week 1, Term 1 and Week 10 Term 3 and record it.
  3. Students must have their record verified by a parent, caregiver or teacher.
  4. Pass on the completed Student Record to the front office by the designated due date.
  5. Receive an award in late November.

Research has shown that parental support makes a difference to how active children are. One of the biggest factors in helping children to be active is providing support to participate in physical activity. Whether that is getting them to sports, taking them to the playground, riding your bike with them or simply encouraging them outside to play, these are all things that will help your child to be active.

The Premier’s be active Challenge is most successful when parents show interest and support their children. Help your child get 60 minutes of physical activity per day and you will be making a positive difference to their future. It’s also a great way to be more active yourself!

If you would like your child/children to participate in the Premier’s be active Challenge, please return the reply slip by the end of Term 1 (Thursday 11th April) to receive a recording booklet.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at the school.

Kind regards,

Brett Middleton

Campus Sports Coordinator and Pilgrim Wellbeing Coordinator
