Welcome to our New Students

Welcome to our new students and their families commencing at Pilgrim School in 2024.

 

Our new Foundation students starting Term 1 include: Lucy, Aaron, Imogen, Adonis, Zach, Acacia, Emily, Ryker, Olivia, Kenzie, Toby, Benaiah, Malcolm, Griffin, Harriet, Eva, Nate and James. Welcome also to Frederick in Year 2; Scarlett, Sienna and Wenxin who are joining us in Year 3 this year and Max who is joining us in Year 4.

 

We pray rich blessings on you all as you start at Pilgrim, that you soon feel like you really belong here, can explore in your learning and flourish in who you are.

Foundation Families Meet the Teacher 

Foundation Families are invited to come to school on Thursday 24th January 3:00-4:00pm to say hello to their class teachers and for new students to see their classroom set up ahead of the first day of school the following week. 

 

Please bring in all unlabelled pencils, textas, glue sticks and scissors on that day to leave in the classroom. Bookcover sheets and instructions will be provided at that time. (Anyone not able to come in that day will receive their cover sheets on the first day of school.) Parents are asked to apply the covers as per the instructions that will be provided and bring covered, labelled books to school no later than the first day of Week 2 (ie by Monday 5th February).

First Day Morning Tea

All parents are welcome to join us for morning tea in the Oasis Kitchen on Monday 29th January after you have dropped your child/ren at their classrooms. We would love to catch up with you on this first day of school!

Parent Information Nights 

These nights are extremely important as each teacher presents information about the learning programs for their class. This year our Parent Information Nights will be held in your child's classroom and we ask all parents and caregivers to attend.

Foundation classes: 6.30pm 

Years 1/2 classes: 7.15pm

 

Monday 12th February 2024

Years 3/4 classes: 6.30pm

Year 5 and 6 classes: 7.15pm 

Pilgrim School Family Community Event 

We would love you to join us at the Marion Outdoor Pool on Saturday 17th February 3.00 - 6.00pm for our Family Community Event. Tickets are available through Qkr!

  • Swim pass (use of pools and water park) $6
  • Swim pass with waterslides $11
  • Spectator $4
  • Bring your own food and drink or use the kiosk
  • Please book by Wednesday 15th February

Commencement Worship 

We will be holding a special worship in Week 4, Tuesday 20th February, for the dedication of our school year and staff, introduction of our Foundation students by their Year 6 buddies and presentation of Foundation Bibles. All families are warmly invited to join us in the Performing Arts Centre (PAC) at 8.55am.

School Photo Day

Wednesday 21st February 2024

Order envelopes from MSP Photography will be sent home in the first couple of weeks of school. All students will need their own envelope on photo day (whether your family orders photos or not).

 

Family envelopes will be available from the Front Office on request.

We encourage orders to be made online. Please follow instructions on the envelope.

Welcome to our New Staff 

 

We are pleased to welcome Ali Daou, Vanessa Olesen, Jordan Wheatcroft and Michelle Hook to our staff team at Pilgrim School this year. Ali will be teaching one of our Foundation classes, Vanessa one of our Year1/2 classes, Jordan in both Year 3/4 classes and the Wellbeing Team, and Michelle is joining our Inclusive Education Team. Please introduce yourself and make them feel welcome.

Chinese (Mandarin) & Auslan Language Classes 

The School of Languages will again be running after school Mandarin & Auslan classes at Pilgrim School in 2024.

  • Times: Thursdays 3.30 – 5.00pm
  • Start Date: Thursday 8th February (Week 2 of Term 1)
  • Duration: Each Thursday during school terms from 8th February to 5th December (not in school holidays)
  • Appropriate for: Foundation to Year 6 students from any school
  • Cost: $150 per student for the year
  • Enrolment: Enrolment forms are available online at https://schooloflanguages.sa.edu.au/enrolment/
