Level 2
Level 2
Level 2 have had another marvellous fortnight of learning and are settling in quickly to the routines of Grade 2.
Writing
We have been learning about the organisation and word choice relating to procedure texts. Students have written procedure texts giving instructions on how to draw an object, before following/testing their instructions with a partner. Students were then able to edit and revise their instructions to ensure they were complete and making sense.
Reading
In Reading, Level 2 have been encouraged to be ‘active’ readers and deeply engage in the reading process. In order to achieve this, they have been predicting and making text-to-self connections. Students have chosen good fit books from the library and have enjoyed reading them during independent reading.
Maths
Students have continued their learning about data and graphing. This week they have explored pictographs, bar graphs and analysed information in different visual representations.
Inquiry
Students have started to look at how the present, past and future are signified by terms indicating and describing time. They created a word wall demonstrating what changes in time meant to them.
