Students across all year levels have been enjoying exploring the STEAM room this term. This term we will be having a digital focus across the school.
Foundation students have engaged in a range of STEAM challenges aimed at building communication, thinking skills and collaborative learning. We have now started using the bee-bot robots learning about positional language and providing clear commands.
Grade 1 students are building on their previous learning of drag and drop coding. Students are using Scratch Junior to code stories and simple games.
Grade 2 students are learning about the role of robotics within the community. Using LEGO We-do robotics, students will explore, create and code inventions, including flood gates, ocean cleaning devices and machines to sort recycling.
Students from Grade 3 and 4 are learning about 3D design and creating an inclusive playground using Tinkercad.
Grades 5 and 6 students are using Minecraft education to create a house that applies understanding of first nations people and their sustainable practices.
