Level  3 

In 3GE we have settled in well to the new term. We have been completing some assessment tasks and have worked hard to show our teachers what we already know.

Reading

In our Reading lessons we are comparing fiction and non-fiction texts. Last week we focussed on certain elements of fiction texts, such as identifying the problem and solution in a story, as well as learning how to identify the author’s purpose. This week we are focussing on non-fiction texts, including analysing the features of non-fiction texts and identifying important information.

Writing 

We have been learning about writing narratives, including gathering ideas, how to effectively plan, and how to organise our narratives.

Maths

In Maths, we have been learning about place value, focussing on reading large numbers, the value of digits depending on their place in a number, ordering numbers, expanded notation & partitioning.

Inquiry

This term in Inquiry, Grade 3GE has been learning about community, including the different celebrations we have in our different communities.
