Kildare Campus Update
Construction Updates
Kildare Campus has welcomed our new Year 7 and 8 students for 2024 as they embark on their exciting academic journey. The Stage 2 construction is progressing seamlessly, nearing completion, and remaining on schedule to meet the established timeline.
The specialty building will be a welcome addition to the campus, providing a modern canteen (facing out onto the Central Plaza), Food Technology, Science Labs, Art Tech, Fab Lab and Art 3D classrooms.
The general learning building replicates the Stage 1 design and fosters a conducive educational environment. The campus expansion reflects a commitment to providing enhanced resources and infrastructure, ensuring a holistic and enriching experience for all students. Excitement abounds as the campus evolves to meet the needs of its growing student body.
We are extremely hopeful that we will receive notification shortly that will allow the cover over the basketball court (COLA) to proceed.
We are also in consultation and have progressed substantially with our planning for our AFL size oval, including a cricket pitch, and hope to have a timeline of commencement available shortly.
Student pick-up
Kildare Campus is a busy place - particularly at drop-off and pick-up times. We understand the desire to get in and out early before other cars arrive, however we have noticed some cars arriving well before the end of the school day that are blocking the roads and restricting the flow of buses which is subsequently resulting in some students missing buses or not getting to their connecting buses on time.
We kindly ask parents to avoid picking up their child/children from Kildare Campus prior to 3.10pm to allow the buses to move through first. Students need time to get from their classrooms and to collect their belongings from their lockers at the end of the day and waiting that extra few minutes to pick them up will ensure they are ready when you arrive, allowing for a much smoother pick up.
Lunchtime Activities
We kicked off our lunchtime program this week - providing students with the opportunity to participate in a broad range of activities across physical activity, mathematics, mindfulness and the arts. The student leaders have brought the good vibes for the start of the year, supplying the lunchtime music in the plaza (there are even plans for a student vs staff dance off during term). All students are warmly encouraged to engage in any of the lunchtime programs that interest them and present further ideas to staff if there is something else they would like included.
