Inter-House Swimming Carnival

Our annual Inter-House Swimming Carnival created a lot of excitement, starting as students boarded the buses to HBF Stadium on Wednesday, 28 February.

A new House had its sights on the top of the standings this year, with Xanten powering upwards from the bottom of the ladder to the top. Xanten and Tongerlo would battle all day for the top spot and this reflected in the House spirit on display from both Houses.

Eventually, Xanten pulled away with favourable results in the relays to break a 21 year drought. The overall result came down to the relays with Xanten claiming double points to secure the Swimming House Champion trophy for 2024. Congratulations to Mr Aaron D'Souza, Miss Teleah McKeown and to all of Xanten House on their exceptional commitment to the day.

Specialised Programs Strength and Conditioning Sessions

Over the last few weeks, our Years 10 to 12 Specialised Program students have been participating in a series of rigorous strength and conditioning sessions at the Sam Kerr Football Centre in Queens Park. Under the guidance of our Strength and Conditioning Coach, Mr Caleb Aquino, these sessions have given students a unique opportunity. They are designed specifically to enhance performance in their respective sports.

The Sam Kerr Football Centre, only a 5 minute drive from St Norbert College, is renowned for its world class facilities. Serving as the training facility for the Matildas and other international teams during the recent FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia, it offers our students an unparalleled opportunity to train in an an environment where excellence is the norm.

As we approach the culmination of these strength and condition sessions, with just one more to go in Week 8, we are already seeing remarkable progress among participants. Their dedication, coupled with Caleb's expertise and the world class facilities, has laid the foundation for success, not only in their respective sports, but also in their overall athletic journey.

Thank you to Caleb for planning and facilitating these sessions and to Football West for accommodating our students.
