PAT CRONIN FOUNDATION VISIT - Learning to Be WISE and PAT:
This week our school was fortunate to host a powerful presentation from the Pat Cronin Foundation, an organisation dedicated to ending the senseless acts of violence known as the “Coward Punch.” Students were engaged as they listened to Pat’s story and reflected on the importance of safe choices, respect, looking after one another and even that one action could have dire unintended consequences.
The presentation highlighted the WISE message, encouraging everyone to:
· Walk away from dangerous situations
· Ignore troublemakers
· Seek help from a trusted adult or friend
Exit quickly if things don’t feel right
Alongside WISE, students also learned about the importance of being PAT – a reminder to:
· Pause and think before acting
· Assess the situation carefully
Talk it out instead of reacting with anger or violence
These simple but powerful strategies give students practical tools to keep themselves and others safe, while also building a culture of kindness and responsibility.
We are grateful to the Pat Cronin Foundation for sharing such a message with our school community. By being WISE and PAT, our students are better equipped to make positive choices and contribute to a safer, more respectful environment both in and outside of school.
WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/ GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!:
A reminder that our School is conducting the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
The link and PIN was sent out via XUNO message last Monday.
MR BRUCE KALLIO:
Due to ongoing health concerns, Mr. Bruce Kallio has made the difficult decision to resign from his position at KTHS. Mr. Kallio commenced in 2024 as a teacher of Mathematics and Science and also shared his passion for music by teaching guitar during his time with us.
We thank Mr. Kallio for his contributions to our School Community and extend our best wishes for his future endeavours.
