Games to Support Language and Connection

Playing games offers many benefits for our EAL learners of all ages. Games create an engaging and supportive environment to practise language skills, while building social connections. Through games, our learners are encouraged to listen carefully, follow instructions, and use new vocabulary in meaningful contexts, which helps strengthen their speaking, listening and comprehension skills. Games also promote collaboration and turn-taking, giving students the chance to interact with peers, share ideas, and develop confidence using English.
