Athletics Coburg District Success!

Yesterday, 34 of our Year 4, 5 and 6 students proudly represented Newlands Primary School at the District Athletics Carnival. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for competition, and our students gave it their very best in a range of events including Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, and a variety of track races.

Throughout the day, our athletes competed at a very high level, showing determination, resilience and sportsmanship. Just as importantly, they cheered on and encouraged other students, displaying the excellent values we hold so highly at Newlands. Every student should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.

A huge congratulations to all our competitors, with a special shout-out to Mia, Sage, Ari, Fletcher, Billy and Sebastien, who qualified for Divisions in their respective events. This is an outstanding achievement, and the whole school community is so proud of you!

I would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to parents Anna Burroughs and Guy Ross, who generously volunteered their time to assist on the day. Your support was invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the event, and we truly appreciate your contribution. Also, a big thank you to all other parents who came to support our students during the event!
