School Garden

Over the past few weeks, our students have been busy bringing our school garden to life. With the support of a special incursion from Hume City Council, students have been learning all about soil health, the importance of worms, different plant types, and how to care for a garden.

The hands-on experience of planting and nurturing has not only given students practical skills, but also a strong sense of pride and ownership. Many have expressed how rewarding it feels to be giving back to their school environment while contributing to something that benefits the whole community.

We are so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic our students have been throughout this project. Their efforts are helping to create a space that everyone in our school can enjoy — now and into the future.

Everyday Counts

Gallery Image

Attendance is currently being closely monitored by the Department of Education as a significant concern, especially when students are frequently late, picked up early, or absent for more than 10 days in a school year. These attendance issues will be addressed by our front office staff and teachers and discussed further during upcoming parent-teacher interviews.

A few important reminders for families:

  • Every day counts—missing school impacts your child’s learning progress and social connections.
  • Schools want to partner with parents. If you have any concerns about attendance, please contact the school promptly or record absences through Compass.
  • There is no safe number of days to miss school; even small amounts of missed time can have negative effects.
  • Speak positively about school and the importance of regular attendance.
  • Avoid scheduling routine medical or dental appointments during school hours and try not to plan family holidays during term time.
  • If you’re worried about your child’s attendance or wellbeing, please seek support from the school. We are here to work with you to support your child’s success.

Open and timely communication between parents and school is essential in addressing attendance concerns early and effectively.
