Weekend Activities
Last weekend, staff and students ventured a little further afield for a couple of exciting tours of Fremantle Prison. From all reports, it was an insightful and entertaining experience that both students and staff thoroughly enjoyed.
Afterwards, they then ventured over to the Fremantle markets and enjoyed browsing and shopping.
What's Been Happening This Week
This week, our netball team played in their first final in the local competition. Unfortunately, we didn’t quite get the chocolates, but we have another opportunity next week to make amends — good luck, team!
Motorcross Track - Over the last couple of weeks, Mr Dyson and Mr Foster have had the motocross track up and running for after-school practice. This has been greatly appreciated by both the riders and spectators. A big thank you to both gentlemen for their time and effort in giving students the opportunity for some valuable practice.
Pool Competition - The pool competition is now underway, with many games already played. Several matches have been very close, which is impressive given the names were randomly drawn.
On Wednesday night we took some 38 students across all year levels into the Harvey Rec Centre for a live performance of” Is There Anybody Out There?".
College Ball
Next week is a short week, with the College Ball on Friday. To allow for travel, students may depart on Thursday 21st August after 2:30 pm.
We kindly remind students and parents to submit leave requests early and ensure they are approved, so we can have a smooth departure.
Appreciation to Staff
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our hard-working domestic staff, who have been doing an amazing job in and around the College. Both the kitchen and cleaning teams have often been working under pressure due to staff shortages on many days; however, if you didn’t know, you would never notice.
For those of us who do know, we truly appreciate your efforts. Thankyou for everything you do.
Headspace
It is very disappointing that some of our Year 11 students were disrespectful onsite last night during the visit from our Headspace guest speakers. These sessions are carefully arranged to provide students with valuable tools and strategies to support their mental health and wellbeing.
We expect all students to engage respectfully and take full advantage of such opportunities.
