Grade 3 & 4

Grade 3

We have had a fantastic year with the grade 3s! We are busy preparing for end of year festivities and Christmas Carols.

Please enjoy a snapshot of some of the learning activities that occurred this term.

Literacy

Students are busy publishing narratives they have previously written. The focus has been on using descriptive language and correct tense.

Students are continuing to focus on reading with fluency (rate, expression, punctuation and accuracy). They have demonstrated their skills through a readers theatre script.

Maths

This term students have been focusing on the four operations. They have been engaged in numerous learning activities and games to showcase their skills.

Science

Students investigated the topic "Heating Up". They researched how animals heat themselves up, hot environments and conducted heating up different foods and their heating mechanisms.

First Aid

Students participated in a 45-minute session from St John's Ambulance, learning about DRSABCD and practised placing a partner into the recovery position.

Grade 4

It is hard to believe that another year is coming to a close! We have had a fantastic year with the grade 4's and wish to thank all of our families for your support.

Here's a review of some of the things we have enjoyed this term.

Mathematics

We have been learning about lots of interesting topics during Mathematics in Term 4, including fractions and decimals.

Greenhouse

Nigel and Veronica from Food Ladder taught us about how the Greenhouse works.

We also had fun helping build the frog bog.

First Aid

Grant from St John's Ambulance taught us about DRSABCD and we practised putting a 'patient' into the recovery position.

Bridges

As part of Science, the Year 4 students have had fun designing and building a bridge with a partner. The bridge had to span 50cm and hold 500g of weight.
