Robbie Kearns Cup State Championship - Runner Up

On Wednesday, 27th November our Year 7 Boys Rugby Tag team competed in the Robbie Kearns Cup at Seabrook Reserve in Broadmeadows.

The boys played Mickleham SC in game one, with a very nice 20 - 12 win. In game two the boys played Patterson River SC with another win, 16-12. Game three was an 8 all draw against Melton SC, in somewhat of a dead rubber. All students played their part for the team in the group stage, which resulted in Yarrabing coming runners-up in the group stage and progressing to the final.

The Grand Final was an all-west final, Melton SC vs Yarrabing SC, with the final result 12 - 4. This was a super impressive result, considering that we only had Year 7’s and were competing against established schools with a rugby program and Year 7 and 8 players.

We are pleased to announce that in our first year of our wonderful school, we are Runner Up State Champions in the Robbie Kearns Cup.

Congratulations to Alex, Chris, TJ, Cristvie, Paolo, Brodey, Minn, William, Malakai, Nmachi, Jaasiel, Isaia, Jujhar & Karter (Team Captain).
