Elephant Ed Workshop for Year 10 Students
On Wednesday, November 13th, we’re pleased to welcome Elephant Ed to deliver an engaging workshop for our entire Year 10 cohort. This session will explore important connections between intimacy, relationships, and sexual wellbeing. Topics will include understanding the relationship between intimacy and connection, the concept of the intimacy scale, and building essential skills for effective communication and negotiation within relationships.
Leaders for Change Forum Invitation
We’re thrilled to announce that our school has been invited to participate in the Leaders for Change forum, hosted by FVREE, Maroondah City Council, Yarra Ranges Council, and the Department of Education’s Respectful Relationships initiative. This inspiring forum is designed to empower students to lead positive social change and address gender inequality within our community. Through hands-on activities, thought-provoking panel discussions, and collaborative conversations, participants will gain valuable insights and practical tools to prevent violence and foster leadership skills. This year, we’re excited to bring five of our Year 9 students to this transformative experience.
Secret Agent Society Program Wrap-Up
We have concluded our Secret Agent Society program! To celebrate, we’ll be taking participating students on an exciting excursion to Timezone. This outing offers a fun way for students to practice the important interpersonal skills they’ve developed throughout the program, including teamwork, assertive communication, and emotional regulation. Together, they’ll put these skills to the test with activities like bowling and laser tag, combining learning with play!
Supporting Our Students through Learning Programs
We at VSC are thrilled to offer these valuable programs to our students this year. To help students process and engage with the themes covered, we encourage parents to discuss these topics at home, reinforcing what they’ve learned and helping them apply these concepts to real-life situations. Open conversations around these subjects can strengthen students’ understanding and confidence as they navigate relationships, decision-making, and personal development.
We’ll continue to keep you updated on upcoming programs and events. If you have any concerns before or after the workshops, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Wellbeing team at 8872 6300 or contact your child’s student manager for support.
