Calling all young women interested in exploring STEM opportunities. This unique opportunity empowers young women to explore aerospace and defence through hands-on activities, industry tours, and expert-led sessions, all hosted over the school holidays.
Program Details:
· Dates: 3 sessions across the year (during school holidays)
· Location: RMIT University, City Campus, Melbourne. (This is a non-residential program; students are required to travel daily to and from our city campus).
· Application Requirement: A short video (max. 2 minutes) where students tell us why they should be chosen.
· Eligible Grades: 7 to 12
Program Cost:
· FREE
What to Expect:
· Hands-On STEM Activities – Each program offers a unique experience where students will participate in one exciting STEM activity, such as drone construction, app design, glider building, or bot programming. Programs will wrap up with an exciting race to showcase student innovations. Please note that activities vary per session, and students will focus on one specific activity rather than all listed.
· Insightful Lectures & Q&A Sessions – Hear from STEM professionals and discover our state-of-the-art engineering facilities.
· Exclusive Industry Tours – Get an inside look at leading aerospace and defence companies.
Application & Program Selection: We are currently accepting applications for all 3 programs. Students selected will have the chance to let us know which holiday program period they’d like to attend. While we can’t guarantee their preferred session, we’ll do our best to accommodate preferences on a first-come, first-served basis.
How to Apply:
· Create a 2-minute video explaining why you would like to be chosen.
· Students can upload their video to YouTube or Vimeo as an UNLISTED video and simply send the link to wackettSTEMprogram@rmit.edu.au.
