Mano AFL Rules
Over the last two weeks Mr Beck and myself have had a wonderful turnout of Prep - Grade 2 and Senior students on the oval to play a game of footy, whilst encouraging and teaching the 'Mano' AFL Rules. We are wanting to make sure all students are aware of the new rules and understand them so any student can join in and play safely.
- (Grade 3-6) Wrap and Release
- Prep - Grade 2 'Touch 123'
- No High Contact
- No arguing with umpires (teachers)
- If you follow the rules you are in, if you don't then you are out.
The students were honestly amazing with many boys and girls both playing and organising their own teams. The students know and also understand the rules on the oval which was great to see and hopefully this can continue at recess and lunch-times. Not many free kicks got pass Mr Beck who was in fine form - but hopefully some photos for you to enjoy!

2025 Swimming Carnival
Next year on Friday January 31st (Week 1), Mr Hambrook runs at the beginning of the year a Swimming Carnival at Geelong College Pool for Grade 3-6 students. This is to see which students are successful in attending the next Division level for swimming in Geelong and will represent ‘Mano’. Mr Hambrook has been asking students of interest who would like to be involved as this event is only for students who wish to participate and are competent and confident in swimming. There has been a wonderful amount of students from Grade 2, 3 and 4 who are keen and interested, but I am reminding them that this is a competitive sporting event and expectations are high.
Students will compete in their appropriate age group. Students must be able to swim and race 25 metres up and 25 metres back without stopping (50m) in either freestyle, backstroke, breast-stroke or butterfly. If you feel that your child cannot complete this distance please let Mr Hambrook know by the end of week 8 or 9. I will be sending out Compass notes for student permission in week 8 this term!
If any parents are able to help on the morning being a marshall or time-keeper please let Jessica or Georgia in the office know or come and speak to Mr Hambrook.
