 Performing Arts

In performing arts we have been learning about the circus. 

Over the last two weeks the whole school has participated in a circus incursion, this is where we learnt how to juggle, spin plates, throw and catch devil sticks and manipulate a diabolo.

Everyone has so much fun.

The grade 5 and 6 students have also been perfecting their face painting skills.

Auslan

This week in Auslan all children are learning how to sign the classic Christmas Carol "Jingle Bells." We are practising this song to perform at next week's Christmas Concert. Here are some signs we have been using below.

Physical Education

With the summer season approaching, physical education sessions have been centred around the Summer sports in preparation for term one interschool sports, which begin very early in the new year. The sports that we have been doing associated skills work for include Cricket and Basketball, with Volleyball, Soft Ball and Tennis to follow. Students in grades 4 and 5 will soon be selecting the sport that they would like to play next year.

Whilst the younger grades won't be playing interschool sport yet, they too have been learning fundamental skills for each of these sports. These skills have been applied to modified versions of each sport, giving them important exposure to them. Hopefully this will promote interest in pursuing one or more of these sports as they get older.

Visual Art

Everyone is busy preparing for the Art Show. It will open in the SEALS room (adjoining the gym) on Monday 9th December, which is also Graduation Day for the grade 6's. 

The Art Show will be open from 3:10pm until 4:30pm Monday 9th, Tuesday 10th  and Wednesday 11th of December. 

During school hours all students will spend some time with their grade to have a look at their work displayed. Children will be allowed to vote for their favourite piece of art.
