Welcome to Our Final Edition for 2024
Presentation Night – A Night of Celebration
On Wednesday, 6 December, we held our Presentation Night Awards evening, celebrating the achievements of our students. While not all students could receive awards, the evening recognized students from each year level who achieved the highest academic results, demonstrated exceptional effort, or excelled in sport, performing arts, leadership, and community service.
Special awards were also presented, including the University of Melbourne Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Award, Skyline Education Bursary, Monash Scholars, and Insight Endeavour Awards.
Congratulations to all students recognized for their hard work and dedication this year. A special thank you to our teachers, tertiary, business, industry, and community partners, as well as parents, carers, and fellow students for supporting our awardees. We truly have an amazing learning community!
On Thursday, 12 December, students who had completed their Year 12 with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) received their examination results. Congratulations to Prerana Preeju, who achieved an exceptional ATAR of 96.5 and was named Dux of the College. Prerana aspires to follow her passion for caring for people through nursing and midwifery.
To every student who undertook external exams, congratulations, especially to those whose results exceeded their expectations. Your achievements are commendable. For students who may feel disappointed, remember that your worth goes far beyond any score—you are defined by your resilience, character, and the countless opportunities that lie ahead.
Orientation Day
On Tuesday, 12 December, we officially welcomed our 2025 Year 7 students during Orientation Day. This event allowed our new cohort to participate in their first full day of activities at the College.
Congratulations to Assistant Principal for Junior Subschool Mr. Luke Wilson, Junior School Leader Mr. Adam Nettleingham, and our 2025 Year 7 Coordinators, Ms. Lucy Hawkes and Ms. Lucy Tusan, for organizing a fantastic day.
Well-planned and implemented transition programs lay the foundation for students to settle into their secondary environment successfully. Based on our observations, the Year 7 cohort of 2025 is well-prepared for a great start.
End of Year
As this is our final newsletter for 2024, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our College Council members, students, parents, carers, business and industry partners, and other members of our community for their support throughout the year.
A special thank you to our leadership team and teaching and non-teaching staff for their dedication and efforts in supporting student learning and wellbeing. Your courage to take risks and commitment to improving student outcomes are integral to the ongoing success of our College.
Last Tuesday, 16 December, we welcomed new staff members for 2025. Our college continues to be a "College of Choice" for teachers, enabling us to appoint high-quality educators.
I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday period and look forward to working together in 2025 for another successful year.
