From the Year 3 Classroom
Parents, please remember to fill in the permission and lunch order forms for your child for our end of year fun day at the Splash Park.
Reading -
Students have finished reading the text Matilda by Roald Dahl. To celebrate their hard work and finishing the text they will be completing book reviews, an activity choice board and comparing the book to the movie.
Writing-
Students are publishing their narratives. Once printed they will be illustrated and made into a book.
Mathematics-
This week students enjoyed playing a range of Number and Algebra games. The competition was tight and competitive, playing in teams and partners. Students will continue revising different activities we have covered throughout the year.
Inquiry-
This week we have discussed our local community and what community groups our families and friends belong to. We are also investigating our local population and who lives in our area.
Religion-
This week we start our Source of Life unit called; Christmas – a Message of Joy and Peace. We read a beautiful story titled, ‘The Christmas Wish.’ Students wrote their own exceptionally thoughtful wishes for Christmas including:
“I wish I could go and put flowers on my great grandfather’s grave.”
“I wish my grandparents will be happy on Christmas Day.”
“I wish my grandpa would come over from Wales.”
“I wish my little cousins will love Christmas as much as I do.”
Congratulations to our Multiplication Masters Charlotte and Maeve
