VTAC’s free webinars assist both applicants and the school community in understanding various topics relevant to making a VTAC application. Those supporting a Year 12 student during the VTAC application period are encouraged to attend and can find a list of upcoming webinars below and on the VTAC website here: www.vtac.edu.au/events. Recordings of these webinars will be uploaded to view on VTAC’s YouTube Channel.

REMINDER: Scholarship opportunities for Year 12s commencing tertiary study in 2025
VTAC Scholarships applications are now closed but Year 12s can still apply to Victorian scholarships offered by other organisations. Either by applying direct to the tertiary institution – you can find a list on the VTAC website here – or the Victorian Department of Education website lists other scholarship opportunities for Year 12s undertaking tertiary study in 2025. And visit the below Scholarships Guide document for a range of scholarships offered around Australia for students commencing tertiary study in 2025. Year 12s are encouraged to research these scholarship opportunities to check eligibility and be informed on the application process and deadlines.
RMIT Indigenous Access Program
For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people applying to study a RMIT course next year, their Indigenous Access Program and the Ngarara Willim Centre team provides support to you during the application process through an informal interview and non-ATAR and non-competitive selection process. You can read more about how the RMIT Indigenous Access Program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people including how to apply here. Monash Discover MADA Now: Student Exhibition Tour – Tuesday 19 November at 6pm
Each year, the Monash Caulfield campus comes to life with original and dynamic work from over 600 artists, designers and architectural graduates at the MADA Now graduate exhibition. Set across three buildings, come along and see studios, meet graduates, and discover an incredible variety of work – everything from paintings, sculptures and sound pieces, to architectural models, animations, books and other printed material. Entry is free and everyone is welcome – whether you’re an industry professional, future student, educator or happen to live in the neighbourhood, come along and discover the next generation of creative talent. Adult volunteering: Australian Volunteers Program Information Session – 21 November at 6:30pm
Join this online event to learn how you can support overseas organisations to achieve locally led, development goals. The Australian Government has supported skilled Australians to volunteer overseas for over 65 years. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and a range of volunteering modalities are available; in-country, hybrid and remotely from home. Defence University Sponsorship Information Session – Melbourne & Online – Thursday 28 November
With a Defence University Sponsorship (DUS) the ADF will pay you to complete your degree and pay your remaining fees. You will earn a salary while studying and walk straight into an ADF role following graduation. If you want to study at university and are interested in joining the ADF, DUS might be for you. Making confident career choices at results time – Tuesday 3 December at 6pm
The end of the year can be an anxious time for senior secondary students as they take their final exams, wait for their results, and think about what the future holds. Join myfuture's Dr Michael Healy as he shares some tips on how to make sense of their results and help them to plan their next steps accordingly. He will talk about:
- How to make sense of what the results mean for your child
- How to deal with second thoughts
- How to change their plans, if they really need to
- What kinds of options do they have if they didn't achieve the results they hoped for
- Where to go for help if you they it.

STEM + X webinar series – recordings available to watch on demand
STEM + X (where STEM = science, technology, engineering and maths, and X is up to you) is a formula put together by Careers with STEM for students to explore how they can combine a STEM degree with their passion, another field or a world changing goal. Students can visit this STEM + X website to search careers matching their X and STEM interests plus watch recordings from this STEM + X webinar series to learn more. And check out these free Careers with STEM job kits to discover what a specific STEM job is all about, meet real people working in that job, and find out about the possible career paths.
The Royal Children's Hospital EOI for Youth Committee
The primary aim of the newly established Health Literacy team at The Royal Children's Hospital is to create engaging, informative health information and digital content for parents, caregivers and young people. As part of this project, they are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from young people aged 13 – 25 who are interested in being part of codesign work they are conducting in 2025 to develop content and resources for young people that will help improve community health literacy. The Royal Children's Hospital is looking for young people aged 13 – 25 who want to help us to share interesting, relevant and trustworthy health information with other young people online.
There will be opportunities to co-create health information, as well as chances to let us know how you like to learn about health topics – and give us feedback on what you don’t like!
The project will kick off at the beginning of 2025, with invitations to participate in different ways throughout the year. Remuneration will be provided to those who take part.
