Busy Preps
Prep Students Preparations for Grandparents and Special Visitors Day
Our Prep students wanted to make a beautiful gift for their Grandparents and Special Visitors when they came to our school on Wednesday 1 May. They busily made some pots and cards using handprints and paper mache techniques. Our Prep Students are certainly flourishing at St John's.

Year 1/2 Students Singing on Grandparents and Special Visitors Day
The Year 1/2s worked hard creating their own actions and rehearsing their special song for Grandparents day. I’m sure all of our special guests felt the love and energy emanating through their performance and our morning tea on Wednesday.
3/4 Puppet Incursion
On Friday, 3 May, the Year 3/4 students participated in a Puppet Workshop run by Melbourne Puppet Kerfuffle as part of their learning in Performing Arts. Students were shown puppets from around the world and practised skills used by famous puppeteers. They had the opportunity to use amazing hand puppets and worked in groups to create shows, which they performed in front of each other. Students were engaged and amazed, some asking if this was really a job, and how could they do it!
It was a wonderful way to conclude our unit on Puppeteering and the students showcased their ability to change their voices and use movement to really bring their puppets to life.

Responsible Pet Ownership
Today our students in Prep to Year 2 were involved in a Responsible Pet Ownership Incursion.
The Responsible Pet Ownership program educates children on:
- living safely with dogs
- responsible pet ownership.
Their pet educators and their dogs visit schools in Victoria each year to promote the vital safety messages through animated presentations, song and role play.
