What's happening Week 4 Term 2:
Here is a riddle that you can try just for fun!
What five-letter word becomes shorter when you add 2 letters to it?
The answer is at the bottom of the newsletter!
Anzac Day Memorial
Last week on Anzac Day Lesra and Cruz went to ANZAC Park to remember those who fought in the war. We laid down a wreath on the monument, representing our school and how we will always remember those who served in the war. We had a minute of silence for those who 'lest we forget' and we listened to a few common Anzac Day poems. We saw a few veterans give a speech, we also sang the Australian Anthem, we will never forget those who served in the war to protect us and our country.
Thanks to Mrs Glouftsis, Mr Iacopino and Mrs Hurford for supporting us and to our parents in bringing us to this special occasion.
Sovereign Hill Excursion
This week the year sixes went on a long drive to Sovereign Hill.
We got split into 3 groups and each had turns doing different activities, such as taking a trip into the mines where we got to see real gold, watching gold being created, learning about the second largest gold nugget in the world and we also got to pan for gold. At the end of the day, we each bought food, drinks and souvenirs at the stores around Sovereign Hill. We all enjoyed ourselves and learnt lots of interesting things.
