Term One Physical Education/Sport

We have covered a huge amount of events for such a short term.

In February we had the House Swimming sports and for the students who qualified, the District swimming sports.

Interschool sport started in week 3 with our students participating in teams of rounders, softball, bat tennis and cricket. Congratulations to the open Softball team who made the grand final and will play on Thursday 28th March against Milgate primary. Good luck boys!

In March we had the House Cross Country for years 3-6 which was held down at our beautiful river area and later the same week we had the Fun Run for the Prep-2 students. What fabulous results from both events. Congratulations to the students who qualified for the District Cross Country which is being held on Tuesday !4th May at Ruffey Lake Park. Well done also to our younger students who ran so well in the Fun Run, quite a few of them running further than the 3-6’s ran in the Cross Country! We were very lucky to get such lovely weather for these events which I’m sure helped the performances. Congratulations to Yarra House for winning the 2024 House Cross Country/Fun Run. In second place was Forbes, third place Brackenbury and in fourth place Anderson.

In Physical Education sessions our students have been fortunate to have had clinics in soccer and AFL. Next term there will be hockey and basketball clinics. Also the Hooptime competition for the 3/4’s and 5/6’s will be in May held at the Mullum Mullum Stadium. Coaches and scorers will be needed for both these events, please see Compass.

A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help at these events. Thank you!
