Traffic Management & Parking Guidelines

School Traffic Management and Parking Guidelines

Families are reminded to be courteous and considerate of our neighbours and student safety when driving and parking in streets surrounding the College. We have numerous car parks across the campus designated to ensure the safety of the community and help with traffic flow. Please find below a reminder of College guidelines regarding parking and traffic flow.

Staff Parking

Two car parks are allocated for staff parking. One is closest to the St Louis Sports Centre off John XXIII Avenue, and the other is the A Block Carpark off Mooro Drive / Heritage Lane.

Student Parking

Students can only park in the student car park located at the east end of the College playing fields. The entrance to this car park is off John XXIII Avenue. Failure to use the correct car park could result in the privilege to drive to school being revoked.

Pre-Kindy, Kindergarten and Pre-Primary Parent Parking Options

Pre-Kindy, Kindergarten and Pre-Primary families should park in the Early Years Carpark off John XXIII Avenue to drop-off and collect children from their Early Years’ classrooms. Overflow parking is available in the main car park off John XXIII Avenue and The Loop car park off Mooro Drive.

Years 1 to 6 Parent Parking Options

Parents who wish to park and pick up their children can use the main car park off John XXIII Avenue, The Loop car park off Mooro Drive and the car park off Heritage Lane John XXIII Avenue.

Students from Years 1 to 6 can be collected from The Loop off Mooro Drive, which is staffed to help for an effective flow of traffic. If picking your child up from this location, please:

  • have your surname sign displayed on your dashboard;
  • drive all the way to the bottom of the loop;
  • have your child exit from the passenger (left) side of the vehicle. At pick-up, please stay in your vehicle and staff will guide your child to get into your car safely from the passenger side.

Years 1 to 6 students may also be collected from the Kiss ‘n’ Drive Loop off John XXIII Avenue if accompanied by a sibling in the Secondary School. When using drive-thru to drop off or pick up your child, please be mindful of maintaining a steady and smooth flow of traffic. If your child is not ready to be collected, please continue to move through and join the queue again.

Years 7 to 12 Parent Parking Options

The main car park off John XXIII Avenue is designated for Secondary parent parking. Parents are welcome to park and pick up their children or use the Kiss ‘n’ Drive Loop near this car park. When using drive-thru to drop off or pick up your child, please be mindful of maintaining a steady and smooth flow of traffic. If your child is not at drive-thru, please continue to move through and join the queue again.

College Events

For large College functions when additional parking is required, the College playing fields will be available for overflow parking. Please follow the signs provided or follow directions from the staff on duty at these times.

School Zone Safety

All parents should drive carefully and slowly, especially during the busy times at the start and end of the school day, to ensure the safety of students. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Use only John XXIII College car parks to respect our neighbours and avoid causing inconvenience.
  • Drop off and pick up your child in designated areas.
  • Observe the 40km/h limit in school zones.
  • Follow all traffic and parking signs.
  • Avoid double parking as it is illegal and dangerous for children.
  • Exhibit safe and considerate behaviour as both a pedestrian and driver.
  • Yield to pedestrians, especially near driveways.
  • Park only in marked bays on the College campus avoiding no parking zones, access ways, verges, gardens, pathways, and neighbours' properties.

Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring student and pedestrian safety and courteous traffic flow on and around the College campus.
