From the Principal

Principal: Mathew Montebello

Dear Families,

Auskick Clinic – Surprise visitors

Twenty-Four Grade 1 students received the surprise of their life when on Wednesday Western Bulldogs superstar Marcus Bontempelli arrived to support an Auskick Promotion clinic. The Bont, along with up and comer Jedd Busslinger, joined in with Paddy and our Grade 1 Willy Kids in a fun filled 30min session.

Auskick officially kicks off this week at Bayside College, Bayview St Williamstown.

Interested students should head on down and give it a go.

A big thank you to the Western Bulldogs and AFL Victoria for bringing the players down, and to our PE teacher, Paddy, who as a die-hard Western Bulldogs supporter was excited giving Marcus some coaching tips.

Prep Enrolments & School Tours

This week we held our 2025 Prep Enrolment Information Night and led our first of five school tours. It was great meeting many new families and sharing what we love and value at our school.

The tour was led by three of our Grade 6 JSC, who did an amazing job sharing their lived Willy Kid journey.

One question that is often asked is “Can you apply to Willy Primary if you are out of the school zone.” The simple the answer is “yes.”

All families have the option to apply to their preferred school and application approval will be pending enrolment capacity. This can vary from year to year and cohort to cohort, so we recommend all families who view Williamstown Primary as their preferred school to submit an application.

School Tours will continue for 2025 enrolments on;

Monday 6th May, 9:30am

Thursday 16th May, 9:30am

Tuesday 11th June, 2:30pm

Tuesday 23rd June, 9:30am

Volunteer Policy

As part of the school’s policy review cycle, several policies when up for renew require community feedback. The volunteer’s policy is one such policy and the school council’s Ed Pol team are seeking feedback on this policy. Please find attached the policy with any thoughts or feedback to be sent to Steven Puhar via email  steven.puhar@education.vic.gov.au

Thank you in advance for your support and feedback.

Warm regards,

Mat
