Principal's Report

eSafety

In today's digital age, ensuring our children's safety online is more important than ever. With the prevalence of social media platforms and online gaming, it's crucial to equip ourselves with the right tools and knowledge to safeguard our kids' online experiences.

Remember to monitor your child's online gaming activities regularly and engage in open conversations about online safety. Educate them about the potential risks of sharing personal information and interacting with strangers in gaming environments.

For valuable resources and tips on promoting eSafety for children, visit:

Let's work together to create a safer online environment for our children, whether they're on social media, gaming platforms, or exploring the digital world in other ways!

Road Safety

As our students commute to and from school, ensuring their safety remains paramount, particularly while biking. Emphasising the use of designated crossing points significantly enhances the safety of our school routes.

Please encourage your children to consistently use crossing points during their travel. By adhering to this practice, we not only prioritise safety but also set a commendable example for our younger community members, fostering a culture of responsibility and awareness.

ANZAC Day

This Thursday 25 April 2024 is ANZAC Day, a national day of remembrance to commemorate Australians and New Zealanders who have served in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.

ANZAC Day as we know it was first observed on 25 April 1916, as people came together to commemorate the landing of Australian and New Zealand forces at Gallipoli, Türkiye, on 25 April 1915.

This important tradition has now become an opportunity to stop and reflect on the sacrifice and dedication of all our veteran and service community, and the families who support them.

ANZAC Day is a public holiday. Families and students who wish to observe the day can join in commemorative activities across the Macedon Ranges. These activities include the:

  • dawn service
  • commemoration march
  • laying of wreaths
  • commemoration service.

For more details, including about the dawn service, refer to the RSL Victoria website. The dawn service will be livestreamed on the Shrine of Remembrance website.

Just a reminder that there is a pupil free day on Friday the 26th of April.

Farewell to Melissa

Melissa McHours, one of our Education Support staff, has accepted a position at Kyneton High School. Her final day will be Friday May the 3rd. I’d like to thank Melissa for her contributions to MPS and wish her all the best with her new role.  We have advertised for a new education support person and will hopefully fill the vacant position soon.

Warm regards,

Andrew Bloomfield
