GRIP Conference
On the 3rd of May, the fourteen student leaders attended a conference at Federation University titled ‘GRIP’ Leadership. This excursion lasted a full day and provided our leaders an opportunity to learn more about the wide world of leadership. The event was held as a way to help student leaders from primary schools across Ballarat figure out more about leadership and themselves as leaders.
The leaders were seated in a large auditorium with over 600 people. Various people would come onto the stage and talk about many things such as the ways that you can become a better leader, the tricky steps of leadership that most people forget, and the traits that every leader should have. Of course, with some activities as well.
The students all got booklets which contained the activities they would be completing for the day. Spielvogel house captain, Ella Lofts quotes: "The GRIP conference was very fun, and we did a lot of different things. It was pretty loud though."
During the conference, there were many opportunities to go up onto the stage. When students were selected to go up onto the stage, they would come up and share their idea to the entire auditorium, before being awarded a badge for their efforts.
Overall, it was a very fun experience that all the leaders enjoyed. Everyone had a great time and learned a lot about various aspects of leadership.
