Ryan’s Rambling

Message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

It was wonderful to receive such a warm welcome back after my short stint of long service leave. Japan was amazing and I can thoroughly recommend a trip there if you have the time.

I would like to thank Kylie and Kym, who both expertly managed our school whilst I was away. School leadership can be unpredictable and difficult; however, they’ve both risen to the challenge well to ensure our students were provided with a safe and caring environment to thrive in.

This week, we have much to reflect on and celebrate. 54 of our students represented our school at the District Athletics on Wednesday. Regardless of any results (of which we have many to celebrate), the most delightful aspect of the day was the school pride and spirit shown by all of the students present. Whilst our team members were competing, we were the only school that all students cheered on; “Dana Street! Dana Street!” could be heard across Llamberris.

It was wonderful to have so many of our community members here to celebrate our Community/Mothers’ Day morning. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed your little cooked breakfast and I thank our staff for coming early on the day to prepare everything. It is times like these that I really do relish the supportive and inclusive nature of our school community. Being ‘in the moment’ together and appreciating the company of those who matter most is such an important life lesson. Thank you so much for making the effort to come along today.

Of course, this Sunday holds such importance for all of us. To all of the mothers, grandmothers, surrogate mothers, aunts, sisters, friends or any significant adult influence on our children, I wish you a happy Mother’s Day. I do hope you get spoilt this weekend. I also acknowledge that this weekend may be a difficult time for many. To those people, you have my empathy and I hope you can find some solace this weekend.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Ryan 😊
