Lest we forget

Dawn Service

ANZAC Day is a special day in Australia and New Zealand when we remember and honour the brave soldiers who fought in wars to keep our countries safe. Every year, on the 25th of April, we wake up early before the sun rises to attend a special ceremony called the Dawn Service.

This year, our school captains attended the Dawn Service at the Ringwood Clock Tower and laid a wreath to represent our community at Great Ryrie Primary School. We are very proud of them for representing us with respect and honour. Many families from our school were also there, showing their support and gratitude. The Dawn Service is a quiet and solemn time when we think about the sacrifices these soldiers made for us and the importance of coming together as a community to remember them.

An Honour to March

Jasmine and Olivia participated in the ANZAC Day March in Melbourne. They were lucky enough to have the opportunity to help our veterans by holding their service flags along the parade. Only a few girls Guides from Victoria have the privilege of doing this every year.

We went into the city for the ANZAC Day Parade with Guides.

We were invited to help the returned soldiers by carrying their flags. I was able to carry 3 different flags for them. We had to tilt the flag at the eternal flame to show respect to the soldiers who fought, and we walked from Federation Square to the Shrine of Remembrance. We felt proud to be able to help remember the people who served our country.

Jaz

Congratulations Jaz and Olivia. By participating in the ANZAC March, you have helped to show support and appreciation for our servicemen and women, both past and present.

Lest we forget

Outstanding Acts of Kindness from our students

Layla, Jack, and Ava's commitment to fundraising for The Lost Dogs Home is truly commendable.

Their efforts, which included doorknocking in their Heathmont community and raising $317, reflect their compassion and dedication to assisting animals in need.

Personally delivering the donation to The Lost Dogs Home in North Melbourne must have been incredibly fulfilling for them, knowing that their contributions will directly benefit the well-being of lost and abandoned dogs.

Their initiative is not only inspiring but also undoubtedly leaves a positive impact on both the community and the lives of these animals."

Congratulations !
